The Mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2:16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

God’s Word, the King James Bible for English speaking people, gives us God’s thinking on all different matters.  As we read it we learn what God thinks about different issues and we can choose to see the world around us as He sees it and think about things the way He thinks about them.

Formula for Contentment?

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

A promise that we will receive the desires of our heart. How priceless would that be?

Everyone has in their mind desires that they want for themselves. We have a picture in our mind of what will make us happy. We think, if only I had this and that, then I would be happy. Maybe the desire is for financial security, or good health, or for good friendships, or maybe close relationships. Maybe our desire is towards a career path, or a social status. Perhaps we have retirement as a desire. Maybe certain material possessions are desired, a type of car, or a certain home, maybe a boat, or a specific wardrobe.

The Way that Seems Right, But Isn’t

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

This verse is talking about the way to Heaven. If you ask 10 different people how to get to Heaven, you may get 10 different answers. There are many different ways that people think will lead to Heaven. So if there is a way that seems right but isn’t, then I should probably make sure that I am not going that way.

The Rapture of the Church

The rapture is one of our most important and least emphasized doctrines in most churches. Paul referred to it in writing to Titus as “that blessed hope”. It is an answer to a promise that Jesus made the night before His crucifixion. Jesus was leaving but left His disciples with a great and blessed hope…

John 14
[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2] In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Saved by Grace

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

A very, very common misconception is that somehow we earn our own way to Heaven. It started with Cain and Abel. Cain offered to God the fruit of his labor in tilling the ground, and that offering was not accepted by God. His brother Abel offered the firstlings of his flock, and that offering was accepted by God. The difference was that Cain’s offering was produced by Cain’s own labor, but Abel’s was not. Cain worked hard to till the ground to produce his offering, but Abel simply offered the life of an innocent animal.

Eternal Security

Are believers secure? After having made peace with God by receiving His salvation, can anything happen to cause me to lose my salvation and go to Hell?

The only opinion that matters on this or any other subject is God’s. Many people are of the opinion that spiritual truth is vague and open for personal opinion. People are sometimes unaware that God’s Word is specific and clear. But that would be people who have not looked into God’s Word to seek to know God’s Mind.
